In November 2016, Restore the Earth Foundation (REF) Co-Founder and Executive Director P.J. Marshall presented at Sustainable Brands’ New Metrics Conference. The conference focused on the new set of values being adopted by businesses and their leaders. These new values incorporate the environmental and social impacts of operations, allowing companies to better assess their sustainability, risk, and opportunities in the short and long term. However, in order to truly integrate them into business a new, innovative set of metrics is required. REF addresses this need with the EcoMetrics Model, providing the business case for landscape scale restoration with verified and monetized environmental, social, and economic metrics. This video highlights Restore the Earth’s mission to restore 1 million acres in North America’s Amazon and how the EcoMetrics Model will help achieve this goal.
